Make-up Myths & Facts
First of all - your make-up definitely does NOT need to be a thick, heavy foundation, with bright, strong colours on your cheeks and eyes ‘for the photos’ as so many brides are told and talked into.
By defining your eyes with soft neutral tones, enlarging and accentuating the natural bone structure, this will ensure a timeless, glamorous, elegant look that will appear extremely attractive in the reality of day, lasting into the evening, and will look beautiful in all your photos, black and white, colour and video.
A soft foundation, matched to your skin tone, enhancing (not masking) your complexion is all that is required to cover any blemishes and see you through to the end of the reception.
Throughout the day your photo will be taken in many various lighting scenarios. For example – in your home or garden, then maybe in a church. After the ceremony – outside perhaps at the beach, in the city or in a bush setting, at the reception when day becomes evening and the lighting changes again at the venue.
Your make-up needs to work, and work well under all of these lighting challenges.
Of equal importance are mothers of the bride, no drastic changes, just a light foundation to even out the skin tone, subtle definition and soft neutral tones to enhance the eyes.
Some brides might want a 1950’s retro. make-up or a dark, strong smouldering look, you can have whatever ‘look’ you wish, as long as you are happy with the final result.
With over 20 years of experience in T.V/film photographic and bridal make-up industry you can be sure of receiving the perfect make-up look for your perfect day.
